Alkaline Water Ionizer - Installation FAQs

1. What is the recommended water TDS range for the ionizer?

  • The ideal TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) range for the water is between 50 and 200 ppm.
  • Above 200 ppm: Install a Reverse Osmosis (RO) System to bring the TDS down to the optimal range.

2. What should I do if the water TDS is above 200 ppm?

  • You’ll need to install an RO system. After the RO system, you must use either:
    • A Pressure Tank, or
    • A 150 GPD RO Booster Pump to ensure there’s enough water pressure to the ionizer.

3. What if the TDS is below 200 ppm?

  • When the TDS is under 200 ppm, we recommend installing a pre-filter (sediment filter). This will help protect the ionizer and extend its life by filtering out larger particles.

4. What RO system capacity is recommended?

  • We suggest using an RO system with a minimum capacity of 25 liters per hour (LPH).
  • Why? Standard RO systems typically have a capacity of 10-12 LPH, while the ionizer works at 1.2-2 liters per minute (LPM). A higher capacity RO system ensures the water supply remains steady and avoids interruptions.

5. Why is a high water flow important for the ionizer?

  • The ionizer requires a consistent flow of water to operate effectively. If the RO system capacity is too low (e.g., 10-12 LPH), the water tank will empty quickly, and the ionizer may stop functioning. A 25 LPH or higher RO system ensures continuous operation.

6. How long does the ionizer filter last?

  • The filter inside the ionizer has a lifespan of 8,000-10,000 liters.
  • Note: If you’re using an RO system, the ionizer filter will last longer because the RO already purifies the water, reducing the need to change the ionizer filter frequently.

7. How often will I need to change the ionizer filter if connected to an RO system?

  • Since the RO system sends purified water into the ionizer, you won’t need to replace the ionizer filter as often. The filter life becomes less significant when an RO system is in place.
